About Us

What makes The Mentoring Path unique?

While some families efficiently pass on elders’ wisdom with the help of grandparents, many are not so fortunate. We bring young and old men together in mentoring relationships, which plays a crucial role in helping our youth get a fair start in their life beyond high school.

Our experienced senior staff had profound and challenging experiences before joining us. The paths they have chosen, be it the ManKind Project, the military, the Alternatives to Violence Project, or other courses, were selected for the opportunities they provided for men to heal and grow in self-awareness, not only for their career skills. These men learned, through their journeys, that mentoring those coming up after them is an essential part of gaining wisdom, teamwork, and leadership skills. Many of the men working in our summer program will gladly continue that relationship beyond this summer program.

Our Goal

Our goal is to create a safe and trusting community where everyone can enjoy getting to know one another and each individual feels welcome. Our community will be the foundation for participants to learn the many skills we are introducing. By the end of the program, we intend the young men to have strengthened their self-confidence and understanding of themselves and have increased empathy for others. We also wish to improve their bond with the Earth and to instill a desire to protect our one and only planet.

Mentorship

During our three-week camp, we will intentionally create ways for the teens to spend time with the adults during meals, walks, games, fireside chats, and more.  We hope mentoring relationships formed from these interactions will continue after the summer program ends. We will encourage the teens to choose an adult by the end of their time together..
